Our Athlete-Based Philosophy

The number one goal at The Coaching Triathlete is to help you meet your goals - whether it's to finish your first race, podium, or just to enjoy the training season.

In today's world, there are countless ways to track data for your progress*.  The Coaching Triathlete takes a balanced approach between collecting objective data and subjective data without overwhelming the athlete. We use (only enough) data to help you reach your goals.

Two-Way Communication is key here! As your coach, you will get consistent feedback from me throughout the training process. As well, I leave a spot for each workout for you to give me feedback on how it went (too easy, too hard, had personal issues come up, etc). We also will measure some objective data when you start as well as every thru weeks throughout the training season.

Multisport & Triathlon Coaching

We start with an assessment - learning both where you are at fitness-wise and your experience. We then establish goals and a plan to meet them.

This can cover a wide array from gear selection, ongoing testing, nutrition, and a weekly training plan with ongoing support and updates.

Nutrition
Planning

We also start with an assessment here, tracking what you are currently doing nutrition wise - from your daily nutrition and also working on race-specific nutrition.

We use a science-based approach to follow your nutrition, see what is working for you and update it as needed taking into account race day needs as well as energy during the non-racing/training time.
